Dr. James E. Pittman, MS State Senate 26 Candidate Engages Democracy and Executive Leadership Experience with Registered Voters at Duling Hall and Anderson United Methodist Church.  Monday October 20, 2025 at Duling Hall and Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS were incredible nights, not only for me to discuss the issues confronting District 26, but also opportunities for the Voters to witness firsthand, democracy at play as well as to critique the Candidates running for this particular MS State Senate District 26 Seat.

As the only Candidate with the established experience acquired over a 22 and 1/2 year period as an Executive with MDOT working in the Mississippi Legislature drafting, researching, introducing and Sponsoring Legislation on behalf of MDOT, it allowed me to share my perspective and vision for District 26.

I spoke about pressing and intricate issues confronting District 26; from economic development, infrastructure development, crime prevention and safer neighborhoods, mental health funding and initiatives, health insurance as a right for everyone, Medicaid and Medicare funding, which is desperately needed to circumvent the closure of rural hospitals, medical clinics and medical agencies; and funding for Public Education and Workforce Development.

I am most appreciative not only for the community to learn of my established experience in the Mississippi Legislature for 22 and 1/2 years, my Education, Qualifications, and Executive Leadership Experience ascertained at MDOT in State Government, but also my Administration Experience gained over a 24 year period as Chairperson of the College of Business and Public Administration at Southern University, Thee Jackson State University, and Belhaven University, but also to hear my goals, vision and perspective for District 26.  

District 26 is ready for sound, capable and experienced leadership.  As such, I humbly ask for your prayers and vote on November 4, 2025.  Vote Dr. James E. Pittman for Mississippi State Senator, District 26.
